The highly acclaimed Metro video game series will be getting a third entry in 2017, according to Metro2035.com.
The wonderful series of apocalyptic novels written by author Dmitry Glukhovsky’s, of which the games come from first began back in 2010 with the release of Metro 2033 on Xbox 360 and PS3 and continued in 2013 with Metro: Last Light in addition to both titles re-releasing in Redux form for Xbox One and PS4. Set in a fictional Russia besieged by monsters and hazardous conditions the Metro series follows the story of protagonist Artyom, a Ranger living in Moscow’s Metro system after a nuclear war broke out.
With the latest novel in the series titled Metro 2035 and available for pre-order, we might be inclined to believe that the game will release by the same name in 2017, with the website stating “It all adds up to something. Where the books end their story, the game will pick it up. An era of great discoveries lies ahead…”
A 2017 release date can clearly be seen in the timeline above and with previous titles releasing across multiple platforms, we can expect a launch for PC, Xbox and PlayStation.
We certainly can’t wait to reprise the role of Artyom with the final chapter in the Metro series, what about you?
