Lara Croft To Be Inducted Into The Golden Joystick Awards Hall Of Fame

Yesterday Lara Croft celebrated her 20th anniversary and today the news comes that the character will now be immortalised in the Golden Joystick Awards (GJA) Hall of Fame.

This prestigious title is only awarded to those few games and characters that have been able to truly shape and mould the landscape of gaming, and with Lara Croft now firmly a household name it’s hard to argue that the protagonist doesn’t deserve her spot in the GJA Hall of Fame. With countless games and multiple movies not to mention a reboot film currently in the works, Lara Croft has paved the way for female characters in video games.

Released to a great critical reception last year for Xbox One, Square Enix launched the latest entry Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4 on October 11th.

Voting for the Golden Joystick Awards is still available to the public, head here to cast your vote
