EA: Star Wars Battlefront 2 Coming In 2017, Will Feature Content From New Films

During the publishers quarterly earnings call, Electronic Arts Chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen confirmed the the companies intent to pump out Star Wars Battlefront titles on an annual basis, with more games to come over the next three to four years.

Despite receiving mixed reviews after its release last November, Jorgensen revealed that a Star Wars Battlefront game would likely be out in 2017, adding that the upcoming Star Wars movies would give the developers, EA DICE something to work off of “Next year we’ll see Star Wars Battlefront back with bigger and better worlds, because we now have the new movies to work off not just the historical movies that we used before.”

Star Wars Battlefront is certainly one of Electronic Art’s more exciting I.P’s so it would interesting to see what role the upcoming films will have upon future games, with Rogue One due out later this year and Episode IX scheduled for release in 2017.
