Bandai Namco Register Trademark for Amazing Katamari Damacy in Europe

According to the OHIM or Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market, Europeans Trademarks and Designs – Bandai Namco Entertainment has filed an application for the trademark of “Amazing Katamari Damacy” for Europe.

Katamari Damacy, a third-person puzzle-action video game was originally released back in 2004 for the PlayStation 2, developed and published by Namco, before the company merged with Bandai in 2005. Katamari Damacy was never released in Europe or Australia with the publishers believing Katamari to be too “quirky”, subsequently, the game only launched in Japan and North America receiving strong reviews across the board.  Katamari sequels, We Love Katamari and Me & My Katamari made it to Europe after being picked up by Electronic Arts.

We would personally love to see a new Katamari game on the Xbox One and/or PlayStation 4 but whether this will be simply another mobile title, a re-release of the PlayStation 2 game or possibly a brand new title for the current gen consoles is unclear.
