Umbra Evolves the Future of 3D Technology After Securing Millions in New Equity

Software company Umbra, a pioneering graphics technology supplier in the video game industry have announced today that it has closed a $3.4M in equity which they plan to use to further develop technology for streaming and rendering any 3D content on any target device in real time. The company aims to create a new technical standard that provides a solution for displaying the ever increasing 3D content in various industries.

Umbra has been powering up graphics performance in more than 100 video games throughout the last 10 years boasting clients which include internationally renowned game studios that have produced commercially successful AAA productions such as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Batman Arkham Knight, Quantum Break, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Destiny. Umbra is a Helsinki based company that was founded in 2006 by its current owners. Today the company employs a team of specialists working in Finland, United States, Korea, China and Japan.


Looking forward, Umbra’s evolving technology will solve challenges such as 3D scanning that requires high-performance software to process vast and complex data sets. Advanced 3D scanning creates detailed models out of real life objects like buildings, environments or even complete cities.
