After weeks of speculation, it’s official. Tom Clancy’s The Division is in development to become a movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain, Ubisoft announced today.
Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the film and television studio of Ubisoft confirmed ‘The Division’ earlier today, which will feature Academy Award nominees Jessica Chastain (The Help, Zero Dark Thirty, The Huntsman Winter’s War) alongside actor Jake Gyllenhaal (The Day After Tomorrow, Brokeback Mountain, The Watch).
“We are excited to collaborate with Jessica and Jake, two of Hollywood’s most talented actors and perfect creative collaborators to help bring Tom Clancy’s The Division to the big screen,” said Gerard Guillemot, Chief Executive Officer, Ubisoft Motion Pictures.
“Attaching Jake and Jessica is part of our development philosophy of working closely with top talent from the earliest stages to collaborate on a high-quality film,” added Matt Phelps, Vice President, Ubisoft Motion Pictures.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is the latest in a long line of Ubisoft titles to transcend to the big screen following Assassin’s Creed (December 21st 2016), Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs and Ghost Recon.
