Nintendo’s latest venture into the mobile gaming market, Super Mario Run has managed to gather an astounding 37 million downloads in just three days after it’s launch on December 15th.
A free version of the game is available to users that allows for the play of Rally Mode and levels 1 through 4, however, players can then opt to pay $10 to unlock the full game and run free across all six worlds.
Northern America contributed a large percentage of downloads for Super Mario Run, with an estimated 11 million downloads in the United States alone, with Super Mario Run‘s day one downloads an estimated 10 million, bringing in an estimated $4 million in revenue.
Super Mario Run‘s overwhelming success surpasses Nintendo’s previous mobile venture, Pokèmon Go, which pulled in a cool $3 million on day one, making the Japanese companies latest outing an instant success, in addition to becoming a top-grossing game on the IOS store.
It is also noted that the game is now expected to make $71 million, which now seems even more likely due to its hugely successful launch.
Super Mario Run is available now on IOS.
