SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics Hub Sales Pass 350,000

Sega has announced that sales for the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Hub have passed the 350,000 mark on Steam. Since its launch on April 28th, 2016, almost half a million Mega Drive and Genesis titles have been purchased by Steam members worldwide, the highest point since the 90’s when the two consoles were all the rage.

“350,000 sales is a phenomenal achievement for content which is over 20 years old!” said James Schall, Director of Digital Distribution for SEGA Europe. “It shows that there’s still a huge following out for the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis, reinvigorated by the fantastic community of modders out there uploading great content.”

The modding scene is also proving to be a success with hundreds of custom ROMS being uploaded by the community since the games launch.

The SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Hub Packs are currently available for £5.50 each on Steam.
