Report: Call Of Duty: Ghosts 2 Is The Next COD Title; Listed For November Release

UK gaming magazine GamesTM has revealed that the next game to come from the popular Call Of Duty franchise will be a sequel to 2013’s Call Of Duty: Ghosts after listing the game under its “2016 Most Wanted Games” article. According to the magazine Call Of Duty: Ghosts 2 is be believed to be launching November this year.

While publishers Activision have yet to confirm or deny this report, the evidence appears to support the article. Activision confirmed during an investors call on February 11th that developers Infinity Ward would take control of the next Call Of Duty title and with 2013’s Call Of Duty Ghosts ending certainly implying a sequel would happen sometime in the future, it’s entirely plausible that we will see that sequel at the end of 2016.

Here is what the article had to say regarding Call Of Duty: Ghosts 2

[box type=”shadow” align=”aligncenter” class=”” width=””]When creative strategist Robert Bowling exited Infinity Ward in 2012, he put the departure down to the studio doing “too much ‘pew pew’ not enough new new.” We got a look at what he meant with the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts – a solid, yet unspectacular next-gen debut for the franchise. Infinity Ward will have had three years to work on a follow up, and it needs to showcase the same creative spark that once put in on the map with Modern Warfare back in ’08 if it wants any chance of standing shoulder to shoulder with Sledgehammer and Treyyarch.[/box]
