Red Dead Redemption 2 Teaser Trailer Released; Rockstar Partner With Sony For “Select Online Content”

Rockstar Games has released a teaser trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, coming to Xbox One and PS4 Fall 2017.

After days of teasing across social media, Rockstar finally announced a follow-up to the 2010 western classic earlier this week, with the promise of a trailer today and boy did the studio deliver.

Its opening moments showcasing a lone man upon a horse in front of a beautiful sunrise set the tone perfectly before opening up to show us a glimpse of lush green fields and wildlife surrounded by woodland. Further into the trailer, we hear the voice of an unknown man who says, “Listen to me. When the time comes you gotta run and don’t look back. This is over.”

The overall tone of the trailer appears to indicate that players will ride with a group of outlaws, which would tie in perfectly with the idea of a possible prequel featuring Red Dead Redemption protagonist John Marston before he turned his back on crime.

As of now, it is unclear whether Red Dead Redemption 2 will make an appearance on the recently announced Nintendo Switch when it launches next Fall, with only Xbox One and PS4 confirmed for now.

Additionally, Sony has announced a deal with Rockstar Games regarding Red Dead Redemption 2‘s brand new online world. “We are pleased to announce that PS4 players get first access to earn select online content in the vast open world of Red Dead Redemption 2.”
