Montreal-based indie developer Red Barrels is a studio blessed with the ability to frighten players out their mind, case and point 2013’s breakout hit Outlast. With Outlast 2 scheduled for release in 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC the developer has taken to crowdfunding website Kickstarter to begin a rather bizarre campaign, designed to help those unfortunate enough to soil themselves while playing their latest fright fest once it releases next year.
According to the developer, Underscares are 100% real and inspired by the Outlast community. In partnership with local designers, Red Barrel’s has developed a diaper prototype that combines practicality, comfort and style so gamers can experience abject terror without worrying of embarrassing themselves.
“Underscares are wearable, comfortable, high quality and most importantly, washable“, said Red Barrels.
The studio’s Kickstarter Campaign is looking to raise CA$ 40,000 by December 9th, with just over 10,000 currently raised. Additionally, the product will only be available for Steam users if funded.
