Developers, Red Barrels has announced that there will be a playable demo for Outlast 2 at this year’s PAX East, which takes place April 22-24 in Boston MA. The Canadian-based development studio has been teasing Outlast 2 for the past couple of weeks with an eerie teaser video released just last week which appeared to hint at a possible reveal during the upcoming PAX East. Red Barrels also confirmed via their Twitter account that they had no plans to release a playable demo for Outlast 2 on either console or PC.
Outlast 2 will once more be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC and will take players away from Outlasts location – Mount Massive Asylum with brand new characters and locations being introduced, Outlast 2 will also be a single-player title with no multiplayer elements. While the development team admitted to being interested in the possibility of Virtual Reality they remain solely focused on the development of Outlast 2.
Red Barrels also confirmed via Twitter that Outlast 2 would be developed using Unreal Engine 3 with slight modifications, 2013’s Outlast was developed using 3.5.
