N64 Emulator Removed From Xbox One Store

After appearing on Xbox One’s Store over the past weekend N64 Emulator app – Win64e10 has been swiftly removed by Microsoft.

Win64e10 allows players to run classic N64 games such as Super Mario Kart and Super Mario World on their Xbox One, cost £7.69 but could only be found by searching the app through Xbox One’s marketplace.

Despite Microsoft best efforts to quickly remove the app, users who had purchased Win64e10 can continue to use the emulator.

Over the summer Microsoft updated the consoles firmware in order to support Universal Windows Platform apps from the Windows Store. However, after a NES emulator appeared on the marketplace earlier this month Microsoft now appear to be clamping down or taking more control over apps on the Xbox One.
