IO-Interactive Has 2 More Seasons Planned For HITMAN, No Plans For Blood Money Remaster

Many fans of the series were left shocked and somewhat disappointed after Square Enix and IO-Interactive’s announcement earlier this year to release the latest HITMAN title in episodic format on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

While there are still 3 episodes to come before the HITMAN experience draws to a close later this year, with Agent 47 heading to Bangkok on August 16th before finishing off with trips to Japan and the U.S, it would appear that developer IO-Interactive has future plans to continue releasing the game episodically, with another 2 seasons planned for HITMAN.

In response to a question regarding a possible Season 2 for HITMAN on Twitter, the official HITMAN account responded:

Additionally, the same account also appeared to rule out the possibility of remaking 2006 classic HITMAN: Blood Money, often regarded as the best game in the series, with the studio opting to focus on future seasons of HITMAN instead.

Square Enix and IO-Interactive’s bold move to turn HITMAN into an episodic release with a full version of the game becoming available at the end of 2016 has proved to be largely successful, with monthly episodes, constant updates and the introduction of “Elusive Targets” to keep players entertained.

HITMAN is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
