Forza Motorsport 6 developers, Turn 10 has announced an open beta for Microsoft’s upcoming free-to-play Forza Motorsport 6: Apex beginning May 5th.
Apex’s open beta offers a “beautiful, high-quality experience that will run on a variety of Windows 10-enabled machines” the developers says, with Turn 10 planning to implement a flurry of updates throughout the summer.
One such update will add wheel support to Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, however, the feature is unlikely to be available in time for May 5th with Turn 10 “working to ensure that Apex delivers the kind of wheel support, performance, and features that racing fans expect from a range of available hardware”.
Other features such as the ability to disable Vsync will be added at some point along with an in-app framerate counter.
The upcoming open beta is a great chance for fans or newcomers to experience the thrills and spills of high-speed racing on Windows 10. Turn 10 would go on to say “While we can’t wait for fans to play the game, we’re equally as excited about how Forza Motorsport 6: Apex helps us improve the gaming experience on Windows 10 for both gamers and developers alike”.
