Battlefield 1 Crowned AAA Game Of EGX 2016, Yooka-Laylee Wins Best Indie Title

Attendees at last week’s EGX have chosen Battlefield 1 as their AAA game of the expo with Team 17’s Yooka-Laylee rated the best indie title.

Over 75,000 gamer’s attended EGX 2016 at the NEC in Birmingham between September 22nd and 25th, with 150 exhibitors showing off some great upcoming titles and hardware.

As per every year, fans were asked to vote for their overall favourite game from the event as well as their pick from 150+ titles in the Rezzed Zone, EGX’s indie area. The latest game in the popular FPS series

The latest game in the popular FPS series Battlefield 1 was crowned the winner, beating competition from Dishonored 2 and Final Fantasy XV to the coveted top spot. Meanwhile, Team 17’s upcoming Yooka-Laylee won the indie game of EGX 2016, beating Gang Beasts and the developer/publishers very own Overcooked to the top spot.

Attendees at EGX 2016 were also treated to the first ever hands-on experience with Arkane Studios Dishonored 2 before the game releases in November. Yooka-Laylee was the highest placed indie title on the list, Team 17’s platformer boasting beautiful visuals and a nostalgic feel which proved popular with the crowd.
