Sony Announce European Release Date For PlayStation VR, Lists Day One Releases

Following a hugely successful E3 Press Conference today in Los Angeles, Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe has confirmed the launch date for PlayStation VR in its region as October 13, 2016 and priced at 399€ or £349.99.

Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe are responsible for 109 countries across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Oceania, and will pursue a two wave launch strategy. The first wave will see PlayStation VR made available for sale on 13th October 2016 in the following territories:

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s second wave will make PlayStation VR available for more countries across Europe, to be confirmed.

In terms of launch software for PlayStation VR, the following games will be available on day one.

Rigs – EUR 59.99 (GBP 49.99)
VR Worlds – EUR 39.99 (GBP 29.99)
Until Dawn: Rush of Blood – EUR 19.99 (GBP 15.99)
Super Stardust – EUR 19.99 [or EUR9.99 upgrade] (GBP 15.99)
Hustle Kings – EUR 19.99 [or EUR 9.99 upgrade] (GBP 15.99)
Tumble VR – EUR 9.99
